Combat

Every kill is earned

Fast third-person melee built on timing, spacing and reads. Your movement picks the attack, so strafing left opens a different chain from standing still. Stamina only limits sprinting: you can always swing, guard and roll.

Take their head

Knock a fighter down and finish them. Severing blows take heads and arms, and the parts stay where they land.

Then pick it up

A severed head is a club. Swing it, or throw it back at its owner when he respawns.

Heads roll

Big weapons hit hard enough to take a head off a standing fighter.

Slide in

Sprint, drop into a slide, come up swinging.

Roll out

Roll out of a run or dodge either way on one key. Evasion never costs stamina.

Run the walls

Hit a wall at speed, run along it, kick off it.

Strike from the air

Every weapon has its own jump attacks. The Nomadic Axe’s running leap is a spinning cut.

Throw everything

Axes tumble end over end, swords spin, stars fly forty-five feet. Then go and get them back.

Finish them

Every weapon has its own finisher. The Nephilim Battle Axe takes a fighter in half.

Fight back

Sigurd, the Practice duelist, swings back. Learn the reads before you put money on them.

Fight real players

Deathmatch by the torch-lit racks of the Asian Astral Forest. Down them, then finish them.

Chain the tricks

Run the wall, kick off it, and drop into a slide the moment you land. Movement flows from one move into the next.

All footage is captured in-engine from the current development build.

The Crown Armory

Every weapon is on the wall

You spawn in a safe armory with every weapon on its racks, free and unlimited. Nothing to unlock and nothing to buy: the fighter across from you can grab the same steel you did.

Astral Shards

Charge a shard. Unleash the weapon.

Shards glow on their stations around the map. Carry one, press B, and the weapon in your hand wakes up with a power of its own. Hosts will be able to switch shards off for a pure steel match.

Frostbite
Astral Sword The first hit grips them in ice. A killing blow freezes them solid; strike again to shatter.
Berserker
Viking Axe Double damage and endless sprint, but no rolling, and you can’t tell friend from foe.
Cyclone
Satyr’s Axe Crescent pressure waves follow every swing. Kills extend it.
Earthsplitter
Nephilim Battle Axe Shockwaves crack the ground and limbs come off easier.
Blood Rush
Nomadic Axe Every hit in a combo swings faster. Miss and it resets.
Hunter’s Veil
Tartarian Bow The archer turns completely invisible and shows only while an arrow is in the air.

Fifteen powers in all, across every sword, axe, hammer, spear, bow and star.

Frostbite

Freeze, then shatter.

Host your own arena In development

Your arena. Your rules. Your pot.

Spin up a server, write the rules, and put money on the line. Every fighter buys in from a browser wallet, and the pot pays out the way you set it before the first swing.

  1. Pick the map and mode

Five arenas, from the Crown Armory’s courts to the cliffs of Basalt Reach. Duel, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag.

  2. Write the rules

Best of five rounds, first to ten kills or most kills in ten minutes. Downed-and-revive on or off. Astral Shards on or off. A password if you want one.

  3. Set the stakes

Choose the buy-in and how the pot splits: winner takes all, a top-two split, or three paid places.

  4. Fight for it

Fighters connect a wallet and buy in. The host server decides every hit, and the result decides the payout.

Fair play

Skill is the only stat

When money is on the line, the fight has to be clean. Slash and Cash is built so the better fighter wins.

  • The server calls the hits

Your client sends inputs, never hits. The host simulates every swing and decides what connects, so a hacked client can’t claim a kill.

  • No grind, no upgrades

No levels, stat points or paid weapons. Everyone takes the same steel off the same racks from the first minute.

  • Combat costs nothing

Stamina limits sprinting and nothing else. Attacks, guards and rolls always work, so fights are decided by reads, not resource bars.

  • Ping on the board

Hold \ for the scoreboard: kills, deaths and every fighter’s host-measured round-trip time.

Coming next: ranked matchmaking built on every fighter’s full kill and death record, and anti-cheat for lag switching and macro inputs.

Questions

Before you draw steel

Is Slash and Cash free to play?

Yes. The game is free in your browser. Staked matches will be optional, and every weapon is free to pick up from the first minute.

Do I need to download anything?

No. It runs in a modern desktop browser with a keyboard and mouse. Open play.slashandcash.com and you’re in the armory.

How will buy-ins and payouts work?

The host sets a buy-in and payout tiers before the match. Each fighter buys in from a browser-extension wallet, and when the match ends the pot pays out by placement, or to the winning team. Wallet buy-ins are in development and not live yet.

Is it gambling?

Staked matches are skill contests: the result comes from how you fight, with no random loot, odds or house player. Real-money play will only be offered where it’s legal, to players of legal age.

Can I host my own server?

Private password-protected Deathmatch rooms are already playable. The full host wizard, with modes, win conditions, downed-and-revive, Astral Shards, buy-ins and payout tiers, is in development.

If it’s playable, why raise funds?

Because real money is involved. Before staked matches open we want dedicated servers in more regions, anti-cheat, and an independent security review of wallet buy-ins and payouts. Donations pay for that, plus more fighters and arenas.

What do I get for donating?

Our thanks, and a better game at launch. Donations are gifts: they aren’t purchases or investments and carry no tokens, rewards, ownership or returns.

Is it like Rune?

It’s inspired by classic arena melee games like Rune: movement-selected attacks, severing, finishers and throwing whatever you hold. The weapons, maps and Astral powers are its own.

The racks are full.

Pick a weapon and meet Sigurd in the north court.
